Lithium batteries are widely used in all types of electronic devices. However, improper use and maintenance will shorten their service life and degrade performance. Therefore, mastering proper lithium battery care methods is essential.
Proper Charging
Only charge lithium batteries with the original manufacturer charger. Avoid overcharging or insufficient charging during the charging process, as both will damage the battery cells.
Avoid High-Temperature Environments
High temperatures accelerate lithium battery aging. Do not leave lithium batteries exposed to hot surroundings for long periods. If you operate the battery in high heat, place it in a cool, well-ventilated area or adopt effective heat dissipation solutions.
Prevent Liquid Contact
Keep lithium batteries away from water, beverages, sweat and other liquids, which may damage the internal battery structure. If the battery accidentally touches liquid, wipe it thoroughly with a dry cloth and air-dry it in a ventilated space immediately.
Routine Maintenance
Conduct regular maintenance to sustain optimal battery performance. Perform a full deep discharge cycle occasionally: drain the battery completely then recharge it to 100%. This activates internal active substances and improves overall battery performance.
Also inspect the battery exterior regularly. Replace the battery right away if you spot swelling, deformation or other abnormal conditions.
Storage Guidelines
For long-term idle storage, keep the lithium battery at around 50% state of charge, and store it in a cool, dry place. Fully charge the battery before reuse after prolonged storage.
